For this painting, my love of Japanese art and culture was evoked by my visit to the UC Berkeley botanical gardens, the Japanese pool section, design by Kaneji Domoto in 1939.
As an immigrant, I love The Bay Area, specially San Francisco is a microcosm of the national melting pot and the most diverse in the country, a place filled with wonderfully eclectic people of every background. It possesses a rich history, thriving culture, amazing diversity and I am so appreciative of learning about all cultures living here most of my life.
